There was a Student Circus Resurgence Conference at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA in 2008. There were panels and discussions about running circus student groups: about putting together shows, doing risk assessments, finding resources, sustainability. More importantly, students from Hampshire College, Wellesley College, Oberlin College, Bard College, and one or two others got the chance to meet each other, to make friends and swap ideas and see that there were other people doing the same thing as they were in other places!
That's all still true - maybe it would be possible to plan another gathering of different groups! Especially given the turnover as students graduate and new students join our groups and clubs…
